Ranma 1/2 (First 'Season')
First Season

For 'season' 2, I'll have it (most of it anyway) on my review page sometime later. When? Don't know.
Ranma 1/2 is about the curse of Jesenkyo springs in china. See, this martial artist Ranma Saotome goes with his dad, Genma, to this training mission to the ancient training ground of Jusenkyo springs in China. All goes well, they're fighting and such, when he knocks his dad into one of the springs, and in a little bit his dad (who has fallen under the curse of Jesenkyo) knocks him in too.
Now, Ranma turns into a girl version of himself, and his dad turns into a giant panda. All it takes is hot water to change them back, but cold water will put them right back into their cursed forms instantly! A great story, you should see it, it'll make more sence then. (Note: I said more sence, not that it would ever really make compleate sence.)
Ranma 1/2 was created by author/illustraitor of most popular comic serieses of all time, Rumiko Takahashi. (Creatress of One-Pound Gospel, The Mermaid Trilogy/Saga, Lum* Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Inu Yasha let's just say she's done lots of stuff and gotten lots of awards for her fantastic work.)
Ranma 1/2 is by far the greatest amount of episodes from a TV series that's ever been every even suggested to be put on video. Viz plans to release all 161 episodes on video in bolth subtitled and dubbed format. (WHOA!!)
Right now they're releasing them in 'seasons', they released the last of the third season in january '98 and finished releasing the subtitled editions for the second 'season' in october '97.
Way to go Viz!
(Just think, I'm going to have to reveiw all of those eventually... hmm...)
Collector's Edition 1:
Episode 1:The Strange Stranger from China
Ranma's 'origin', the curse of Jusenkyo. His father and he have a very... interesting...
situation on their hands, don't they?
Then, he and, well, one of the Tendo girls (won't tell you which one, even though it was obvious from the begging of the episode) are arranged to be married. They aren't very happy about this
Episode 2: School is No Place for Horsing Around
Akane and Ranma go to school, and he gets in trouble within the first few minutes of being there. Turns out that Tatewaki Kuno, captain of the Furinkan High School Kendo Club; has had his eye on Akane for quite some time now, and he's not very happy to hear that she's engaged (naturally.) So, he challenges Ranma to a duel (naturally.) And this could be bad (naturally it isn't though, as you'll so learn with Kuno.)
Episode 3: A Sudden Storm of Love... Hey, Wait A Minute!
This time Kuno sends Ranma an official letter of challenge.
Now Kuno's in love with not only Akane, but another girl too. (Hmm, let me think...)
Collector's Edition 2:
Episode 4: Ranma and Ranma!? If It's not one Thing, It's Another.
Nabiki decides to earn a little pocket money (The wonderful little con artist that she is {isn't that cute!})
How might she go about this, you ask?
Well, she (being a photographer of sorts), hears of Kuno's love, and sells him bolth pictures of Akane and the 'pig tailed girl' for „1,000 each. (Yeesh!)
Of course, the pictures of Ranma are a little more... reveiling... than the ones of Akane...
Episode 5: Love me to the Bone! The Compound Fracture of Akane's Heart.
Well, Akane's got a crush on someone... trouble is, the guy she likes is in love with Kasumi!
Episode 6: Akane's Lost Love, These Things Happen, You Know.
More with Akane's crush, and Ranma's... jelous...?
Collector's Edition 3:
Episode 7: Enter Ryouga! Eternal Lost Boy!
Meet Ryouga Hibiki, Eternal Lost boy, and Gosh! Does he ever live up to his name!
He's been traveling all over Japan trying to find Ranma, he even followed him to China! (Hmm... what went on in China, youthinks? {Ohhh yeaaaah.})
Now he's (finally) gotten to Tokyo, and he's going to fight Ranma.
Episode 8: School is a Battle Field! Ranma Vs. Ryouga!
Well, it's pretty obvious that they fight in this one.
And, well, Ranma kinda accidentally gets changed into a girl during their fight
Then, something bad happens to Akane's... hair...
Episode 9: True Confessions! A Girl's Hair is Her Life!
More about Akane's hair, and Akane finds out that maybe Ranma isn't such a big jerk after all.
Then, Ryouga shows up late at the Tendo training hall, and he intends to settle the score with Ranma (again.)
And, AKane's new pet, a little black piglet (named P-chan) isn't quite what it appears to be...
Collector's Edition 4:
Episode 10: P-P-P-Chan! He's Good for Nothin'!
The truth about P-chan. (Hmm...)
(By the way, a really funny episode!)
Episode 11:Ranma Meets Love Head-On! Enter The Delinquent Juvenile Gymnast!
Meet Kodachi, the Black Rose, captain of her school's gynastic team (forgive me, I forgot the name of the school. St. somethin'-or-other high school.)
Their team always wins by default, because Kodachi always ambushes the other team, crippiling the members.
This time when the Furinkan High School team is ambushed, they call on Akane to be their replacement competitor. (Only problam is, she's not exactly a gymnast...)
By the way, Kopdachi is also in love with 'Darling' Ranma...
Episode 12: A Woman's Love Is War! The Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastic Challenge
Akane accidentally hurts herself while training, and Ranma has to go in the competition in her place.
(By the way, did I mention that Kodachi is also Kuno's sister?)
Collector's Edition 5
Episode 13: A Tear in a Girl-Delinquent's eye? The End of the Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics Challenge
The conclusion of the Martial Art's Gymnastic competition (as was previously indecated.)
There was a setback in the brodcasting of the three episodes that were supposed to go here, and they were instead brodcast at the beggining of the shows in the next (second) 'season.' Those three episodes can be seen {in usa} on the cassettes titled Darling Charlotte and It's Fast or It's Free (The Martial Arts Takeout Race is also on the second tape.)
Thank you.
Episode 14: Pelvic Fortune-Telling? Ranma is the No. One Bride in Japan (Weird title, ain't it?)
Tofu's mother comes to town, and has found a bride for him (and man, is she ugly!) Either he shows her his bride, or he has to marry his mom's chosen one! (Yeesh!)
Episode 15: Enter Shampoo, the Gung-Ho Girl! I Put My Life in Your Hands
Meet Shampoo, the Chinese Amazon who's been following Ranma (Ranma's girl type, actually) and wants him (her) dead!
Then, when Ranma 'acidentally' defeats Shampoo as a guy, it seems he has to marry her...!
Collector's Edition 6
Episode 16: Shampoo's Revenge! Shiatsu Technique That Steals Heart and soul!
Shampoo challenges Akane (with that 'Kiss of Death' thing again) and Akane agrees to fight. Only problam is, when she does, Shampoo uses a technique that gives Akane amnesia! (Sort of...)
Episode 17: I love you, Ranma! Please don't say goodbye!
Akane still can't remember Ranma, but he's figured out a way to cure her amnesia!
Only trouble is, he has to go to China to get it...
Episode 18: I am a Man! Ranma's Going Back to China!?
Ranma claims he's going to go back to china and find the cure to his curse, but he doesn't get very far. Lots of reminising about the 'good old days' in this one.
The Final episode of the first season.
