Macross Plus isn't about your regular sci-fi conspiracy.
Macross Plus is about Isamu Dyson, a rebellious pilot who's just been reasigned to the new Edward's Test Center on planet Eden on the project Super Nova.
His two ex's (ex-friend and ex-girlfriend) Myung Phonlone and Guild Bowman, shown up. Turns out Guild has been asigned to the same project on the opposite team! Expect some major rivalry stuff to be going on.
Pretty soon, a conspiracy to control the Macross via virturiod idol/'singing computer' Sharon Apple is exposed. Can Isamu, Guild, Yang and Myung save earth and distroy Sharon?
One of the most expensive anime series to make, Macross Plus has a lot of computer animation mixed with regular anime. This thing has one killer soundtrack! (Especially Sharon's songs.)
Episode 1
Isamu is transfered to Eden, and asigned to Project Super Nova as a test pilot for a new fighting transformer, the YF-19.
Guild Bowman, Isamu's old friend-turned-rival, has also been assigned to project Super Nova, but on the YF-21 team!
Plus: Isamu's ex, Myung, comes to Eden for a Sharon Apple concert. (She's Sharon's producer.) Now they're not only compeating for the project, but also for Myung...

Episode 2[Isamu, Myung, Guild, Sharon]
The Sharon Apple Concert!! (It turns out that Sharon has the hots for Isamu...)
Plus: A mysterious phone call warns Isamu and Guild of a fire at the concert hall. Who'll get there first, and can the one that does save Myung from a firey death?
Then, there is a deadly 'accident' at the base...

Episode 3
More investigation into the 'accident' at the base.
The project's been canceled!! The UN has decided to go with a new Ghost X-9 fighter instead.
Naturally, Isamu isn't just going to let them do this, so he steals the YF-19 and goes off with Yang to stop the Sharon Apple concert that's going to take place on earth (at which the new Ghost fighter is going to be shown to the world.)
Can they stop it before it's to late?

[Sharon]Episode 4
Sharon's gotten this idea into her head that's she's a living thing, not a computer, and, like I said, since she has the hots for Isamu, she's decided to do something about it.
Don't forget, Isamu's coming to try and stop the concert, right? So guess who they sent out to bring back Isamu, 'the civilian', andthe stolen plane? Why, Guild, of course!
Sharon's taken over the Macross and the minds over everybody in the city. Now she's sent out the Ghost to take care of Guild and get Isamu all for herself. Can they stop her before she get's want she's after?

Comments: A bit shoot-'em'up or sappy at times, but good. Great animation quality, great soundtrack, cool computer animation bits, there's much more to the story than meets the eye. Good show. Sharon Apple's cool, even though she's a little evil. A bit of cussing, some nudity, and violence. This is also the most expensive anime ever made, after that is Ghost in the Shell.
